How many calories are in a baked donut?
These baked low calorie cinnamon sugar donuts contain just 63 calories each or 378 calories for the whole batch of 6!
If you swap the sweetener out for regular white sugar you will bump the calorie count to 68 calories each donut but even still that’s way below the average calorie count of a regular donut.

What are protein donuts made of?
Here’s everything you will need to make the healthy baked donut recipe:
- Plain white flour
- Whey protein powder I use this one
- Baking powder
- Sweetener (I love Erythritol)
- Cinnamon
- Apple sauce
- Egg whites

How to make low-calorie protein donuts:
- Preheat oven to 350F(175C).
- Measure out and combine all of the dry ingredients flour, protein powder, baking powder, sweetener, and cinnamon.
- In a separate bowl, separate 2 egg whites from the yellows. We will not be using the egg yellows. (Alternatively use egg whites in a carton). Whisk the egg whites with the apple sauce until well combined.
- Fold the wet ingredients with the dry mix until everything is combined.
- Lightly grease a silicone donut pan and divide the mixture into 6 even donuts. This mixture should make just enough for 6 donuts.
- Bake in a preheated oven for 10-12 minutes. To test if they’re ready, poke a toothpick into one of the donuts and if it comes out slightly crumbly, they’re ready!
- Spray with some cooking spray or water and sprinkle with a mixture of 1tsp cinnamon and 1 tsp sweetener.
- Best served immediately or store in your fridge for 2-3 days.
