DIY clay ghost tea lights for Halloween
Materials:
- Air Dry Clay – Any air dry clay will work fine for this craft. I used this brand.
Tools:
- Rolling Pin – For rolling out the clay.
- Clay tool – You will need something sharp to make the eyes and mouth of the clay ghost. You can also use a pencil, a piping tip, or a paintbrush tip.
- Small glasses for shaping the ghost – You will need something about the same size as a tea light. I used shot glasses but you can also use egg cartons.
How to make air dry clay ghost tea lights
Step 1: Cut out a palm-sized piece of air-dry clay and knead it until soft.
Step 2: Roll the clay until it reaches about 1/4-inch thickness.
Step 3: Cut out the eyes and the mouth of the ghost with your clay tool or a knife.
Step 4: Shape the air dry clay ghost on a small shot glass or an egg carton until it resembles a ghost. Let it dry for 24 hours.
Optional: You can paint the ghost or use a glaze after it’s dried for a prettier look.
Tip: If you’re going to be using real tea lights, make sure there is plenty of space on the underneath of the ghost for air to come in or the candle will go out when you put the ghost on top of it.
I recommend using battery-operated LED tealights for safety!
