Supplies You’ll Need To Make The DIY Clay Pumpkins:
- Foam clay – orange, brown and green
- Tools for shaping clay
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: You’ll need orange, green, and brown foam clay. Think about the pumpkin, its stem, leaf, and vines. If you want, you can use different shades of these colors.

Step 2: Roll each piece of clay on a smooth surface using your hands to make round balls. Don’t worry if you need to change their size later.

Step 3: Press your thumb or a finger gently into one side of the orange ball to make a small dent.

Step 4: This little dent will help your clay pumpkin stand up nicely.

Step 5: Use something tiny (such as a pen or small stick) to make another dent on the opposite side of the first dent. This dent should be a bit deeper.

Step 6: Let’s make the stem now. Roll the brown clay back and forth until it becomes a thin strip. This strip will be the stem of your clay pumpkin.

Step 7: Put the wider end of the stem into the small dent we made earlier. Bend the other end a bit – this finishes the stem part of the clay pumpkin.

Step 8: Take a clay tool and carefully make cuts on the top part of the pumpkin around the stem. Start with four cuts that cross each other.
Step 9: Extend these cuts to reach the center on the other side.

Step 10: Now, grab some green clay and shape it into thin vines.

Step 11: Make little twirls at one end of each vine. Attach them near the stem of the clay pumpkin.

Step 12: Use a small piece of green clay to shape something like a leaf.

Step 13: With the clay tool, gently create lines on the clay leaf to make it look like a real leaf.

Step 14: Place the clay leaf on top of the pumpkin, near the stem.
Optional: to turn these pumpkins into earrings, attach earring hooks to the stem.

That’s it! You’ve completed your DIY clay pumpkin craft.
Now you can use this cute clay pumpkin as a fall decoration, make it into clay earrings, keychains, or a pendant.

These are just too cute! I really like the idea of making them into earrings as well. Thanks for joining the party this week. This post will be a feature this week. #HomeMattersParty
