Hi guys! It is the 1st of April and you know what that means! It’s March income report time! So keep on reading if you want to see my second month income report from

blogging.
This post contains affiliate links. Please read my disclosures policy for more info.
Now let’s start with the usual component of every single income report I have ever read!
Why am I sharing my income reports?
Honestly, if it wasn’t for other bloggers income reports I would have never even thought about starting my own blog. There’s just something so inspiring about them and they are my number 1 favorite blog posts to read.
I think by seeing what works for other bloggers you can learn what could work for you as well.
It can also help me stay on track with my goals and see if I am actually achieving them and if not what I could be doing differently.
Check out my other income reports here:
My First Month Blog Income Report – February 2018
My Second Month Blog Income Report – March 2018
My Third Month Blogging Income Report – April 2018
My 4th Month May 2018 Blog Income Report – How I Made $1193 My 4th Month Blogging
Just note I share my income as it is earned not as it is paid out.
Some of these programs have 30 to 60 day payout time and I won’t see the actual money for a while. The reason I choose to share it that way is I find it more accurate and more current. A lot can change in 60 days in the blogging world!
These reports only cover the amount I have made DIRECTLY from this blog.
I do earn income online through other ways (surveys, non-blog related affiliate marketing, and freelancing). I won’t be sharing any of that income on these reports though.
March 2018 Monthly Summary
I have to be honest, I barely worked on my blog in March. I did publish 6 blog posts though but these were written in February as I had so much going on in March!
I had an amazing 10 day holiday and celebrated my birthday so that left little to no time for blogging. I am honestly surprised that I earned any income at all in March as I probably spent about 5 hours on my blog the whole month.
That is where my bff Tailwind came to help as it kept pinning for me and driving traffic to my blog while I was off doing other things. It is the best blogging tool for busy people!
I felt extremely guilty about slacking so much in March though and promise to work super hard in April to get my blog going in the direction I want it to go.
What worked for me this month
Towards the end of the month, I created 2 new pins each for 5 of my most popular posts and saw a huge influx of traffic thanks to that!
I also made an effort to add my URL to those new pins as I noticed A LOT of stolen pins of mine floating around Pinterest. I feel that if the readers see my URL on the pin and see it linking to some random site they will be less likely to click on it.
I also joined about 5 new group boards which helped with my exposure on Pinterest. I definitely plan to join a ton more in April as Pinterest Group Boards are such an awesome source of traffic!
My own Bloggers Group Board also kept growing (slowly) but I get so happy whenever I get a new join request!
soo… I would love it if you joined my group board for new bloggers
or if you are a DIY/Home Decor blogger, my DIY group board!
What didn’t work
Finding the motivation to blog when I had so much going on in my life. I really need to focus on setting a specific amount of time aside every day for working on my blog. Even if it is 30 minutes a day.

March Traffic Report
From the 1st of March to the 31st of March I reached 22 518 page views!
I also reached 17 836 sessions which is great as my #1 goal is to reach 25 000 sessions and apply to Mediavine. I reallly really hope this will happen in April so fingers crossed.

March Income Report
- Affiliates* – $146.8
- Amazon Affiliates – $0 This month I didn’t manage to get any sales with Amazon which makes me a bit sad but there will always be next month right?!
*The Affiliates Include:
Bluehost – My Host of choice. They have amazing plans starting at only $3.95 a month which is so much cheaper than any other host I have found. They also have had amazing support and helped me a ton while I was setting up my blog and trying to figure out how everything works!
Pinteresting Strategies – This easy to read and straight to the point ebook taught me pretty much everything I know about Pinterest and how to drive massive traffic to my blog using Pinterest. Prior to reading this ebook, I was receiving about 200-300 page views a day to my blog and felt like I was just spinning my wheels, but not really getting anywhere. As soon as I started implementing the easy strategies outlined in this ebook, I managed to raise my page views to 1000-1500 per day and got accepted by an AMAZING ad company called Mediavine. All thanks to this simple ebook.**UPDATE: I now receive 2500-3500 page views per day all thanks to Pinteresting Strategies!!
How to Make Your First Affiliate Sale in 24 Hours – This ebook is the reason I made any affiliate income in my first-month blogging! The book is jam-packed with amazing tips and great information on how to get started with affiliate marketing and is worth way more than the $25 price!
iGain – Survey Affiliates.
Shareasale – This one’s probably my favorite affiliate network at the moment. Shareasale has 3900+ Merchants whose products you can promote for a commission. Some of my favorites are Grammarly, Tailwind, Reebok, Lulus, and Wayfair. They have so many different merchants and something for every niche to promote.
Awin – Awin is one of the only places you can sign up to be an Etsy affiliate with. I absolutely love Etsy so I use Awin a lot to promote Etsy products. It does cost a $5 deposit to sign up with Awin but you get it back with your first payout.
ShopStyle Collective – Pay per Click service that pays you a tiny amount every time someone clicks on one of your affiliate links.
Linqia – This influencer program is probably the most well known amongst bloggers. To sign up to Linqia you need to reside either in the US or Canada. You must also have at least 2500 monthly visits to your blog or 2500 social followers. The payments from this program vary anywhere from $30 to $300. They also have a great referral program for bloggers.
March Expenses
My Hosting and Tailwind were pre-paid for a whole year back in December so I had no expenses in March.

Thank you for sharing this! I didn’t think of exploring Pinterest as a way to share my blog. I assumed tumblr would be good as my blog also accepts contributors! Thanks for the info
I’ve never thought to do a post like this, but now that I’ve read this I think it’s an awesome idea!
Income reports are super insightful and helpful in my opinion so I love sharing them as much as I love reading them from other bloggers!
Wow! I love that you are already sharing your success with others. Sometimes it seems like the successful people don’t want to share their tips, like they want to hoard them all to themselves. I’ve already got 4 more tabs open right now that are other articles of yours I’m going to read. Thanks for the great info!
Thank you Margaret, that is so lovely of you to say!
I am sure glad I could help!
Congrats. I just started blogging about a month ago and haven’t had as much luck.
I love this. It shows how it really is with blogging. It is not really easy. We all have our ups and downs when it comes to blogging. Some months are better than others. Keep up the great work, it will pay off
You are right! I think the most important thing is to just stick with it and the success will follow.:)
I love this – thank you so much for sharing! I will take into account some of your advice and check out some of these affiliate links for when I start monetizing my own travel blog!
Thanks for the lovely comment, definitely start monetizing asap! Your blog looks great.
Hi Clary,
Thanks so much for the shoutout and congratulations on your incredible traffic growth. We would love to have you join us at Mediavine! As you mentioned, our threshold is 25k sessions within a 30 day period, which you’ll quickly reach if you keep creating great content like this!
Good luck on your April goals and we’ll see you soon.
~Jenny, Mediavine Marketing Associate
Hi Jenny,
Mediavine seems like an awesome company so I am happy to talk about it as much as I can. I cannot wait to join Mediavine, from what I’ve heard from other bloggers you guys are the best!
wow!! I really love how you aim high for your goals, I just started my finance blog Mediocre to mogul and I really thought that you must be humble with your goals so my goal is 1000 page views for April but I see and understand why I should aim higher so thank you Clary.
Hello, I checked out your blog and it looks great for a new blog! Definitely aim high girl, that will motivate you to hustle for the pageviews! Good luck with your blogging journey 🙂
This is great! Your goals are incredible.
I’m so excited to have found you in a blogging place a couple months out from me. I just started on a whim last weekend (well, I used to blog personal trips, but now trying to really get involved in the blogging community) and I see so many who are so far ahead that it feels like I won’t get there. You seem to have lots to share, but also are just in the starting stages. Look forward to hearing more
