Why am I sharing my income reports?

Honestly, if it wasn’t for other bloggers income reports I would have never even thought about starting my own blog. There’s just something so inspiring about them and they are my number 1 favorite blog posts to read.

(So much so that I compiled a roundup of 20+ bloggers first-month blogging income reports!)

I think by seeing what works for other bloggers you can learn what could work for you as well.

It can also help me stay on track with my goals and see if I am actually achieving them and if not what I could be doing differently.

Just note I share my income as it is earned not as it is paid out.

Some of these programs have 30 to 60 day payout time and I won’t see the actual money for a while. The reason I choose to share it that way is I find it more accurate and more current. A lot can change in 60 days in the blogging world!

These reports only cover the amount I have made DIRECTLY from this blog.

I do earn an income online through other ways (surveys, non-blog related affiliate marketing, and freelancing). I won’t be sharing any of that income on these reports though.

April 2018 Monthly Summary

April was definitely a great month for me and my blog. I found myself to be extremely productive in promoting my blog and creating new content for it.

As I barely worked on my blog in March I had some catching up to do!

April was amazing traffic wise. I more than doubled my page views from March and hope to continue to grow.

I also wrote 12 new posts in April so I have plenty of content planned out and ready to go.

This is so helpful because I often get sick and the last thing I want to do is write blog posts when I’m unwell.

It is so reassuring to know I have posts ready to publish in case anything happens that forces me to take time off blogging.

What worked for me this month

At the beginning of April, I came across an amazing ebook called Pinteresting Strategies

Trust me when I say THIS BOOK CHANGED EVERYTHING FOR ME.

Before reading it I was getting about 200-300 page views per day from my Pinterest account but as soon as I finished reading this book (it took me about 3 hours to read it as I basically inhaled it while taking several messy notes!) I started implementing the tactics Carly (the creator of the book) taught me.

I started seeing immediate results and my traffic from Pinterest just went crazy!

Pinteresting Strategies ebook is the only guide you will ever need for Pinterest!

Carly, who wrote this incredibly popular ebook went from 0 to 200k page views on her blog in only a couple of months, without using any schedulers!

My favorite thing about Pinteresting Strategies is that it was updated in November 2018 so it’s completely up to date with all the crazy Pinterest updates and will keep getting updated whenever Pinterest brings out new updates, as we all know they love to do often..

**UPDATE: I now receive 2500-3500 page views per day all thanks to Pinteresting Strategies!!

What didn’t work

Growing my email list. I really struggle with this and only receive about 5 new subscribers a week. I’m hoping to release more freebies in the coming months and start growing my list.

One of my major struggles is also actually writing to my list and being consistent with it. I think I need to take a course on this and really put some work into it!

April Traffic Report

April was amazing for my blog traffic!

From the 1st of April to the 30th of April I reached 50 009 page views!

I also reached 38 899 sessions which is amazing because it meant I could apply to Mediavine!

April Income Report

• Affiliates* – $435.4
• Amazon Affiliates – $11.28 I managed to refer 10 sales totaling to the amount of $176 which gave me $11.06 in commission.
• Ads – $0 – I hope to grow this amount next month when I get approved to Mediavine.

*The Affiliates Include:

Bluehost – My Host of choice. They have amazing plans starting at only $3.95 a month which is so much cheaper than any other host I have found. They also have had amazing support and helped me a ton while I was setting up my blog and trying to figure out how everything works!

How to Make Your First Affiliate Sale in 24 Hours – This ebook is the reason I made any affiliate income in my first-month blogging! The book is jam-packed with amazing tips and great information on how to get started with affiliate marketing and is worth way more than the $25 price!

Shareasale – This one’s probably my favorite affiliate network at the moment. Shareasale has 3900+ Merchants whose products you can promote for a commission. Some of my favorites are Grammarly, Tailwind, Reebok, Lulus, and Wayfair. They have so many different merchants and something for every niche to promote.

Pinteresting Strategies – This easy to read and straight to the point ebook taught me pretty much everything I know about Pinterest and how to drive massive traffic to my blog using Pinterest. Prior to reading this ebook, I was receiving about 200-300 page views a day to my blog and felt like I was just spinning my wheels, but not really getting anywhere. As soon as I started implementing the easy strategies outlined in this ebook, I managed to raise my page views to 1000-1500 per day and got accepted by an AMAZING ad company called Mediavine. All thanks to this simple ebook.

Awin – Awin is one of the only places you can sign up to be an Etsy affiliate with. I absolutely love Etsy so I use Awin a lot to promote Etsy products. It does cost a $5 deposit to sign up with Awin but you get it back with your first payout.

ShopStyle Collective – Pay per Click service that pays you a tiny amount every time someone clicks on one of your affiliate links. From May 2018 they no longer do pay per click and will offer a pay per purchase instead. I expect my earnings from Shopstyle to drop by a lot in May.

Linqia –  This influencer program is probably the most well known amongst bloggers. To sign up to Linqia you need to reside either in the US or Canada. You must also have at least 2500 monthly visits to your blog or 2500 social followers. The payments from this program vary anywhere from $30 to $300. They also have a great referral program for bloggers.

April Expenses

The only expense I had in April was Pinteresting Strategies at $47

As I mentioned before, this ebook was worth every penny and helped me double my page views for the month and get approved by Mediavine!!

• Achieve 30 000 monthly page views – Success! I reached 50 000 page views
• Achieve 25 000 monthly sessions and apply to Mediavine – Success! I reached 25 000 monthly sessions on April the 12th and I was approved on May the 1st! I hope to get the ads up and running by the 10th of May
• Grow my Pinterest monthly viewers to 1.1 million – Success! I reached 1.5 million Pinterest monthly viewers as of 30th of April

• Grow my Pinterest following to 1000 followers – Success! I reached 1005 Pinterest followers!
• Publish 5 new blog posts – Success! I published 6

• Achieve 60 000 monthly page views
• Grow my Pinterest monthly viewers to 1.8 million
• Grow my Pinterest following to 1300 followers
• Publish 6 new blog posts
• Earn $300 in Ad income
• Earn $300 in Affiliate income
