Or are you thinking about starting a blog but plan on monetizing it in the future but you have no idea how to do it?
Well, today I am going to share 6 ways how to make money with a blog for beginners. I am a beginner myself so I know exactly how scary and confusing it all may seem.
These 6 ways will hopefully give you a clearer understanding of how blog monetization works.

You might be thinking you don’t have enough traffic to start monetizing.. And you also might be thinking that you should wait until you grow a larger audience before even thinking about monetizing your blog.
Well, you would be wrong!
The truth is, you don’t need a big audience to start monetizing your blog. Now you won’t be making $1000s of dollars in your first couple of months but if you start monetizing early on you should be able to earn back the money you spent on your hosting plan in less than a month!
Ps. If you are reading this but you don’t have a blog of your own yet then you can check out my easy step-by-step guide on how to start your own blog today!
How To Make Money With A Blog For Beginners:
1.Selling your services
There are many services a blogger can offer. For this method, you would have to be in the blogging game for at least a couple of months and it helps if you establish yourself as an expert in the field.
Once people see you as an expert they might approach you to teach them something you are already great at. This can be Blog audits, helping the client gain traffic or even website design.
You can also offer services like graphic designing, social media management, copywriting and being a virtual assistant!
2. Selling digital products
You can write your own ebook or a course and sell that to your audience. Nowadays ebook is extremely quick and easy to write.
They, however, have tremendous passive income potential as they can bring in income for years to come.
Courses are a lot more time consuming but can offer a high payout value. The courses I have seen range from $150-$900 and offer the client a ton of value. Creating online courses will most probably take at least a month if not more. Once the course it developed though it can also be quite passive of an income.
Other ways to make money selling digital products include selling printables and stock photos.
3.Selling Ad space
By selling ad space directly to the companies you are cutting out the middleman (the ad network). This can work quite efficiently if you already have a lot of targeted traffic coming to your site. This might be a good option if there is a brand you really love and use yourself.
To sell ad space directly you have to find the advertisers on your own and negotiate the term of which their ads are displayed on your site and negotiate the pay rate.
This is usually the number one way how to make money with a blog for beginners. Ad networks like Google Adsense and Media.net will accept you even with a very small amount of traffic.
I personally prefer Media.net out of these two as I like the look of Media.net ads better. They have Contextual ads that blend in better with your blog posts and don’t stick out like a sore thumb.
With Media.net you get a Dedicated Account Manager who makes sure you get the right kind of ads on your blog and make the most money from them. I believe Media.net is the very best advertisement network for new bloggers.
If you want to sign up for Media.net using my link they also offer a 10% boost to your income for the first 3 months to help you get going!
It takes a while to get your blog to the point of earning high income with ads though.
There are ad networks from which bloggers report to be earning upwards to $10000/month. These networks, however, require a certain amount of monthly page views or sessions so it might take you a while to get accepted. Once you reach 25000 sessions/month you can join networks like Mediavine and over 100000 page views a month allows you to join Adthrive
There are 2 ways to get sponsored post requests.
First pitch to brands you love and offer to collaborate. It may seem crazy and scary to reach out to the companies you want to work with but trust me it is so worth it!
The worst thing they can say is NO and you can move on to the next company. Make sure you have sufficient traffic before you start reaching out to brands though.
If the brand does say no, just keep positive and try again with other brands! There are hundreds of thousands brands out there and not getting accepted by one is not the end of the world! Don’t sweat it!
Other than pitching out to brand yourself, you can try networks that connect brands with bloggers for sponsored post opportunities.
Most well known of them are:
This influencer program is probably the most well known amongst bloggers. To sign up to Linqia you need to reside either in the US or Canada. You must also have at least 2500 monthly visits to your blog or 2500 social followers. The payments from this program vary anywhere from $30 to $300.
Social Fabric is a community where influencers get paid to produce high quality of content to some of the most well-known brands in the world. You need to reside in the US or Canada and regularly post sponsored and non-sponsored content.
I saved the best for last!
Affiliate marketing is by far my favorite way to monetize my blog. I believe it is the most viable option for all new bloggers as you can literally get started from day one!
What is affiliate marketing?
Affiliate marketing is an arrangement between an online retailer and an influencer (you!) by which the retailer pays you a commission on any purchase you referred.
Let’s say you found an amazing watch that you absolutely love yourself. You make a blog post to share with all your readers why you love that watch so much and link them to the same watch through an affiliate link. Now someone chooses to buy the watch through your recommendation and you will get paid a small percentage of commission!
There are several affiliate programs you can join.
Most well known of them are:
I personally use Amazon affiliate program and I love it! It is so easy to use and they accept pretty much anyone!
The amazing thing about Amazon is that everyone already buys everything from Amazon. From toothpaste to engagement rings so there is literally something for everyone. Now wouldn’t it be amazing if you refer the sale and bank a percentage of the sale!
Share A Sale
This is my favorite affiliate network. There is absolutely no fee to sign up.
Share A Sale has over 3900+ Affiliate programs to choose from. They have merchants in any category you could imagine!
Most well known of the merchants include Grammarly, Modcloth, Zazzle, Craftsy, ShoeDaddle, Reebok, Tailwind, Wayfair, Romwe and more! You are sure to find a merchant you love to promote.
Most of the merchants pay between 5% upwards to 40% commission per sale.
Share A Sale pays a much higher commission than Amazon which is why I prefer them.
